As a school we follow the Letters and Sounds Program and we follow the Oxford Reading Tree.
Reading is a main driver of our curriculum and texts are carefully mapped out to match our topic areas, the interests of our children, author studies and new and exciting texts.
Our school libraries are a central focus at both schools and have been newly renovated and we are proud of the books we have on offer. Each class visits the school library on a regular basis and children have access to a wide variety of books.
We read to children every day at the Federation and ensure that children read for pleasure every day.
We use the Letter Join handwriting scheme and it's associated resources to teach the essentials of handwriting across the Federation.
